This a job I just finished for Mario from ALL THAT AUTO CUSTOM.
He came to me to freshen and re-create his Shop Logo. We talked about the concept and agreed on this imagery. Mario is one of those no-bullshit guys.He says what he means and does what he says he is going to do. Also one of the Baddest Lowrider/Hopper car builders coming out of Toronto Canada!Shit he's been at it since the early 90's.
Every year I've been to SCRAPE BY THE LAKE, Mario is always there with at least 2 hoppers!!

This is my great friend and sculpting buddy Claudio Setti of MARTIAN FACTORY!
I stopped by his studio and talked shop for awhile and got to see what he's been up to.
One thing about Claudio is he is always working on something cool.He is an inspiration to me and many other who love to sculpt.

Claudio Setti’s passion for women, video games, comics and fantasy art are his inspiration. He attempts to elevate these art forms through the creation of fine art statues based on characters that he connects with. Not for profit but for the passion. His work serves as a historical preservation of these characters in times where things change in the blink of an eye and are easily forgotten. The work is an attempt to preserve these characters for future generations as evidence of this fast paced multi-media generation.

This is my carnal Clyde! He has been in the Lowrider scene in Toronto since 1994. He is the original TRUE PLAYAZ CAR CLUB president and the one guy who started this game first in Toronto.He is a very hard worker and is a perfectionest when it comes to his craft! He happens to be one of my best friends and the one guy I can count on. TRUE PLAYAZ FOR LIFE!! The frame here in these photos happen to be of my 1979 Monte Carlo frame. I asked Clyde to wrap my frame and was expecting the ususal style of wrapping a frame. To my surprise homie has gone way above and beyond the norm. My frame is going to be the first ever in Toronto to have perfectly smooth corners. Its going to look like I bought it wrapped!!!
For those that don't get what I'm saying, you gotta see the work that goes into something like what Clyde is attempting to do!The norm is to Make a pattern out of paper, Cut the metal piece and weld to frame.Clyde is going a few steps further by not only welding and completely wrapping the frame but he is meticulous refining the weld edges on the WHOLE frame. Its truly a labour of love!!
Clyde!THANKS HOMIE!! I know when the SUPREME MONTE CARLO comes out its going to turn a lot of heads all thanks to you!

The rosary & cross and the main graphic the SKULL and brim hat,smiling,smoking... underneath is the Virgin De Guadalupe in a mirror image life and death reminding us before we pass through the otherside we must ask for FORGIVENESS!!Rose Thorn bushes surrounding the whole design and at the bottom in spanish it says ” PERDONAME” which means FORGIVE ME!!

I only buy the best products so get yourself a Windsor & Newton Sable brush #2!!
They are a bit on the expensive side but they last a long time as long as you take care of them.Good luck and I'll be posting another demo soon.
BTW the ink used is PELICAN BLACK INK.

This is the Topper I sculpted for Danny D.I sculpted the original in hard toy wax.I also have to thank my good friend Claudio Setti from MARTIAN FACTORY for making the resin castings in such a short time line. Jas then had it cast in metal in just one day!!.Danny loved the topper! I can't wait to see what he is going to do with them.

LAS VEGAS LOWRIDER SUPERSHOW!

This year was the first time I got the chance to attend the Lowrider Supershow for 2008 put on by Lowrider Magazine!
For people who have been there before it may be no big deal but for someone like me it was truly a humbling experience.
The amount of work that goes into each and every ride and the set ups around them was simply amazing. The cars that stood out for me were Lifestyles Car Club cause of the flawless paint jobs, interiors and set ups.There were of course other cars that were just unbelievable.My main reason for attending the show was to meet some of my heroes and the cars were just the icing on the cake.The people were also very friendly and accepting and made me feel at home.The other reason was to hand carry two special items for DANNY D and for ROB VANDERSLICE. Two of my favorite painters each known for being at the top of their game and for having two distinct painting styles.Danny D being a member of Lifestyles Car Club from Los Angeles, and Rob Vanderslice from Albuquerque New Mexico and now member of the famous Rollerz Only Car Club!
The two items were of course sculpture related, Danny D commissioned me to do a relief sculpt of his logo/mascot and Rob was designed a Custom car plaque.
This was my chance to shine and I took full advantage of the door openings. I have to thank Jas from CCF CUSTOMS for manufacturing the car plaque cause he did an outstanding job! The executing was flawless and turned my concept into a work of art.
The other people I met were, Fonzy (AIRSHOT),Tattoo Tony,OG Abel,Big Spike,Joe Ray,Travis, Juanita,Kutty,Twotonz,Danny De La Paz from BOULEVARD NIGHTS fame lowrider movie from the 70's were he played CHUCO,John Jarasa (HEAVY HITTERS MAGAZINE),Fernando (HH),Joel Gracia (JAGSTER PLACAS),Mexico,Rudy Rivas and last but not least KITA (PRESIDENT OF UCE CAR CLUB).
I gotta say out of all the people I met KITA really stood out for me.Not only was he a cool ass mother fucker but the minute I shook hands with this legend I suddenly felt like family.He has something very special about him.He has deep respect from everyone in the Lowrider community and I was truly humbled by meeting him.
The other thing I noticed is how talented my people are,meaning latinos are such crafty individuals,super talented peoples and was amazed at the level of craftsmanship.
They are hustlers, I mean all the booths that were set up from apparel to hats,music, modeling etc. These people hustle for every dollar!!!
OG ABEL was another dude that amazed me.He was selling them t-shirts of his like hot cakes!!Truly a talented motherfucker!! Sick skillz.
